Starting from the gallery
Clicking New template in the Template Library opens a gallery of six ready-made starters alongside Start blank. Each card shows a small drawn preview of its actual layout, its base object, and a short description. Starting from one is the quickest way to see a well-built template from the inside.
Pick a starter
Section titled “Pick a starter”- Click New template in the Template Library.
- Pick a card from the gallery.
- Sliick Docs creates an independent draft from it immediately, with no separate import step, and opens the editor on that draft.
Picking the same starter twice gives you two unrelated templates, never a shared copy. A name collision is disambiguated automatically, as <Name> (Imported 1) and so on.

All six are built on standard Sales and Service objects with no custom fields, so they work in any org. They are built with current editor features: native table blocks with row-level repeats, merged title and total rows, three-column status strips, and an asymmetric letterhead layout. Use them as a starting point, or as worked examples of the features described elsewhere in this documentation.
Note: none of the starters carries a file-name pattern of its own, so documents generated from a starter take the standard default name. See File names.
