Install and permission sets

This is the first task for a Salesforce administrator. Install the package, then give your users access with the permission sets that come with it.

1. Install the package

Install the managed package into your Salesforce org from the AppExchange listing or the install URL you were given at purchase.

  • Install for Admins Only first so you can test, then widen access once the components are configured.
  • If you are prompted about access to the app’s code, choose Grant access to all users.

2. Assign permission sets

The package ships four permission sets.

Permission setAssign it to
Sliick Files UserAny user who needs to view, upload, tag or share photos and files. This is the set your everyday users need.
Sliick Files AdminAdministrators who configure storage, view storage logs and manage file records. It includes everything in Sliick Files User, and gives access to the Sliick Admin app and its Storage Settings tab.
Sliick Files SetupAdministrators who run an org-wide migration of existing Salesforce files into cloud storage. Assign it alongside Sliick Files Admin; on its own it is not enough.
Sliick Pipeline IntegrationThe dedicated integration user, and nobody else. Required before you connect any external storage.

Note: Users need one of Sliick Files User or Sliick Files Admin to upload files. A user’s profile permissions alone will not do it, so check the assignment first when someone reports that uploading fails.

To assign a permission set:

  1. Go to Setup > Users > Users.
  2. Click the user’s name.
  3. Click Permission Set Assignments > Edit Assignments.
  4. Move the permission set to the Enabled list.
  5. Click Save.

3. Set up the integration user, if you are using cloud storage

If you plan to store images anywhere other than Salesforce Files, you need one dedicated Salesforce user that Sliick acts as when it registers your org and when the image processing service writes results back. Give that user the Sliick Pipeline Integration permission set, and do not use your own admin login for it.
