The photo editor
The photo editor lets you mark up any image in the gallery: circle the damage, label a part, point at the thing you want a colleague to look at. It opens over the record page, so you never leave the record.
Open the editor
Section titled “Open the editor”Click any image in the gallery. The editor opens with the image loaded and ready.
The tools
Section titled “The tools”The toolbar has three modes, plus undo and redo.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| View | Look at the image without changing it. This is where the editor starts. |
| Draw | Draw freehand on the image. Pick a brush colour, and set the line thickness with the slider. |
| Text | Type your note, choose its size and colour, then click Add Text to place it. Drag a text item to move it, or click the red x on it to remove it. |
| Undo and Redo | Step backwards and forwards through what you have done. You can undo several steps. There is no keyboard shortcut. |
Save your work
Section titled “Save your work”- Click Save.
- Your marked-up image is saved as a new version of the file. The original is kept, so you can always go back to it through version history.
- The gallery refreshes on its own.
To leave without keeping your changes, click Cancel. The image is untouched.
Delete the image
Section titled “Delete the image”Click Delete at the top of the editor and confirm. This removes the image from the record and from storage.
If the tools are greyed out
Section titled “If the tools are greyed out”Some images are view-only, and the Draw, Text, undo and redo controls are disabled for them. This happens when the image is stored somewhere that does not support editing, and on Experience Cloud pages where your administrator has not switched the editor on. Ask your administrator if you need to edit the image.
