Share images with external users

You can send someone outside Salesforce a link to an image without giving them a login. This page is for users who need to get a photo to a customer, a supplier or an assessor.

The Share action appears only when both of these are true:

  • Your org stores files in cloud storage, whether that is Sliick Cloud Storage or your own S3, Google Cloud, Azure or SharePoint location. It never appears on Salesforce Files.
  • Your administrator has arranged with Sliick to switch share links on for your org. They are off until then.

Share links also never appear on Experience Cloud pages. If you cannot see Share, ask your administrator which of these applies.

  1. Find the image in the file list, or open it in the image gallery.

  2. Click Share.

  3. If you are offered the choice, decide whether to share the single file or the whole set.

  4. Set the options:

    OptionWhat it does
ExpiryThe date the link stops working.
PasswordRequires a password before the recipient can view anything.
Maximum view countStops the link working after it has been opened a set number of times.
Allow DownloadTurn it off to let people view the image but not save a copy.
  5. Click Create Share.

  6. Copy the link and send it on.

Recipients open the link in a browser and view the image through a Sliick-managed page. They never need a Salesforce login, and the link never exposes your storage directly.

The active shares table lists the links that are still live. From there you can reopen a link, change its settings, or revoke it so it stops working immediately.
