3.1.0

Released 5 October 2026.

Output can look different

  • A field with no format now prints in the template’s own date, time and number formats. The old Raw choice is now called Default. Existing documents may print differently.
  • In an org with more than one currency, a total of a currency field now shows the corporate currency symbol.
  • Filters and conditions now compare dates as dates, so a date filter may return different rows. A date Sliick Docs cannot read now stops the document, with a message naming it.
  • Links and alt text inside a record’s rich-text value are no longer filled in. Only text you wrote in the template is.

Publish again or start a new draft

  • Word files from a designed template published before 3.1 print without a header or footer until you publish it again.
  • The PDF improvements for Word templates reach an existing template through New Draft and publish, not by republishing.
  • Every published version is now read-only. Make changes in a New Draft.
  • Publish goes live straight away. It no longer waits for a proof or a test record.
  • A proof follows in the background. It shows on a card in the editor and as a pill in the Template Library. If it fails, the template stays live and the card says why.
  • A Word template can still be refused if the document itself needs fixing, for example tags that do not match a field, or pictures that are not saved in the file.
  • Restore previous version in the Template Library puts the previous version back live. Restoring again undoes it. See Proof, publish and versions.
  • Dates, times and numbers with no format follow the template’s Dates and numbers setting. Numbers print with the field’s own decimal places.
  • Date filters and conditions accept named periods such as THIS_FISCAL_YEAR and LAST_N_DAYS:30, using your org’s fiscal year.
  • Add days, months or years to a date, for example {{Today+30d}}.
  • Total only the rows that match a filter.
  • Number the rows in a list with RowNumber.
  • Enter your company details once in Settings, then print them with tags such as Company.Name.
  • All of these work in Word-file and designed templates, with the same result in PDF and Word.
  • Word templates print as PDFs that look closer to the original. Line spacing, headers and footers (including a different first page), table row heights, indents, shaded headings, lists and fonts now follow Word.
  • Text and list numbers that ran past a margin now print in full.
  • Word files from a designed template get their header and footer back, and an image watermark now shows next to a header.
  • Merge fields in a list can follow lookups: up to five steps at the top level and four inside a list.
  • See Word-file templates.
  • With premium rendering on, Word templates make their PDFs with premium rendering, which embeds fonts.
  • Designed templates can use 17 design fonts. The Template Library marks templates that need premium or use premium fonts. Without premium, they print in a standard font and you are told.
  • A screen flow can let a user pick a record and a template, then save, download, or both. It works inside Salesforce only.
  • Image blocks in designed templates have Alt text and Decorative boxes.
  • Error messages on the record page, the send screen and the signing page are now translated into all ten languages.
