Disconnecting cloud storage
Disconnecting points storage back at Salesforce Files. It takes three clicks, but read what it does to your existing files first.
How to disconnect
Section titled “How to disconnect”- Open the Sliick Admin app and go to the Storage Settings tab.
- Click Disconnect.
- Confirm.
The file list and image gallery fall back to Salesforce Files automatically. There is no per-component property to change back.
What happens to your settings
Section titled “What happens to your settings”| Provider | What is kept, and what is cleared |
|---|---|
| Sliick Cloud Storage | Your storage key is kept, so you can reconnect later with a single click and pick up where you left off. The active provider goes back to Salesforce and the provisioning status resets |
| Your own storage | The credentials you entered are cleared. Your bucket, container, site and access keys are not touched. Clean those up in your own console if you no longer need them. The active provider goes back to Salesforce |
What happens to your files
Section titled “What happens to your files”Disconnecting does not delete anything already in your storage. The files stay where they are.
The pointer records for those files also stay in Salesforce, and once the credentials are gone the app cannot generate links for them, so they will return errors if someone tries to open one. Clean up the leftover pointers manually, or let the daily cleanup job do it. See Storage logs and scheduled jobs.
If you want those files usable again, reconnect the same provider rather than switching to a new one. To bring older files onto a different provider instead, see Migrate existing files.
