The file list

Read this first if Sliick Files is new to you. It covers where the file list appears, what each part of it does, and how to find one file among many.

Sliick Files components appear directly on record pages. There is nothing separate to log in to or install. Your administrator adds the components to the pages where they are needed, so look for a file list showing documents, PDFs and other files attached to the record. If you expect to see one and it is not there, contact your administrator.

You need the Sliick Files User permission set. If you can see the components on a record page, you already have the access you need.

The table shows one row per file, with columns for Name, Extension, Type, Size, Tags and Actions. A file with more than one version has a > expand arrow next to its name, which opens version history.

The file list header shows a storage badge telling you where files are kept, for example “Salesforce”, “Sliick Cloud Storage” or “S3”. Your administrator sets this, and it cannot be changed from the file list.

Individual rows can carry their own badge too. When your organisation uses external cloud storage, files that are still in Salesforce are badged Salesforce Files, and files left behind by a previously connected provider carry that provider’s badge. See Move files into cloud storage.

Type in the search bar above the list, labelled “Search by file name or tags…”. The list narrows to files whose name or tags contain what you typed. Clear the bar to show everything again.

Use the Sort by dropdown above the list:

OptionWhat you get
Date (default)Most recently uploaded first
NameAlphabetical order
SizeLargest files first
TypeGrouped by file extension

The list shows 5 files per page. When a record has more, ‹ › buttons and a “Page X of Y” label appear underneath. Searching or changing the sort takes you back to the first page.

If your administrator has configured folder mappings for external storage, each row shows a friendly breadcrumb of the business folder the file belongs to. The breadcrumb is display-only: changing it means asking an administrator to update the folder mapping.

On an Experience Cloud site your administrator may hide editing, tagging, sharing and retry actions, even though the same record shows more controls inside the standard Salesforce app.
