Create the Salesforce credentials
Do this before anything else on the Salesforce side, whichever mode you are running. Nothing in the next two pages exists until this step has been completed.
How to get to Setup: in Salesforce, click the gear icon in the top-right and choose Setup. The setup tree appears on the left; use the Quick Find box at the top of the left sidebar to jump to any page named below.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Assign the base Sliick Files permission sets, as described in Install and permission sets. Sliick Files Admin goes to admins who configure storage and open Sliick Settings, Sliick Files User to anyone who uploads, views, tags, or shares files. The SharePoint credential grant on the next pages is in addition to these, and this applies to both Service Principal and Delegated mode.
A fresh org has no SharePoint credential
Section titled “A fresh org has no SharePoint credential”A fresh org has no SharePoint Graph (App) entry under Named Credentials. The package
does not ship it. Sliick creates it in your org when you click Create SharePoint
Credentials in Sliick Settings. If Setup shows nothing named SharePoint Graph, that
is the step you have not run yet, not a broken install.
Set up the Integration User first
Section titled “Set up the Integration User first”Creating the credential registers your org with Sliick, which runs as a designated
Integration User. That user is set up once per org and shared by every external
provider: see Set up the Integration User. Until it is in place, Create SharePoint
Credentials fails with Could not verify the provision challenge against the org.
Create the credentials
Section titled “Create the credentials”Open the Sliick Admin app, go to the Storage Settings tab, select SharePoint, set the Authentication Mode, enter that username in Integration User, and click Create SharePoint Credentials.
What gets created depends on the mode:
| Mode | What is created |
|---|---|
| Service Principal | The SharePoint_Graph_App External and Named Credential |
| Delegated | The SharePoint_Graph_User External Credential plus the SharePoint_Microsoft Auth Provider |
- Service Principal mode: Set up Service Principal mode
- Delegated mode: Set up Delegated mode
