Common questions
Find the symptom you are seeing. If none of these match, contact your Salesforce administrator.
”File is too large”
Section titled “”File is too large””Files must be under 4 MB when your organisation uses Salesforce storage. Cloud storage supports larger files. See Supported file types and size limits.
”Upload failed - please try again”
Section titled “”Upload failed - please try again””This is usually a temporary network problem. Sliick retries automatically up to three times, and tells you if all three fail. Wait a moment and try again.
An image shows a spinner and will not load
Section titled “An image shows a spinner and will not load”The image is still being processed, for example an iPhone photo being converted. This usually takes a few seconds. Refresh the page after a moment.
If the image shows a “Processing failed” indicator, click Retry on the file to re-trigger processing. If it keeps failing, contact your administrator.
I cannot see any images even though files are attached
Section titled “I cannot see any images even though files are attached”Two common causes:
- The gallery is set to show images from a different storage location than where your files are stored. Ask your administrator to check the gallery configuration.
- You do not have access to the parent record. Access to files follows your Salesforce record access: if you cannot see the record, you cannot see its files.
A file I deleted is still visible
Section titled “A file I deleted is still visible”Deletion can lag slightly for files in cloud storage. Refresh the page if you still see the file after a few seconds.
I cannot see the tag edit button
Section titled “I cannot see the tag edit button”The pencil icon only appears for files on external storage that have a version history. Files in Salesforce Files do not support tags through this interface.
The version history panel is empty
Section titled “The version history panel is empty”The file only has one version. History fills up when you replace a file or save an edited image.
Selecting a file does nothing at all
Section titled “Selecting a file does nothing at all”The file list has no record to attach files to. It happens when the component sits on a Home page, an App page, or an Experience Cloud page with no record bound to it. Ask your administrator to place it on a record page.
